tell me
are you one or many
i confess i am both
i can tell you
about these things that tumble
in and out of
me and you
the heart of the eye
the eye of the breath
the breath of the hand
the hand of the ribs
the ribs of the teeth
the teeth of the tongue
the tongue of the mind
the mind of the gut
the gut of the bone
the bone of the throat
the throat of the ear
the ear of the lips
the lips of the navel
the navel of the skull
the skull of the back
the back of the nerve
the nerve of the jaw
the jaw of the breast
we fall together
from a high place
one river runs through us
we carry each other away
feed unseen waters
join greater flows
become oceanic
